If you're thinking about booking an indoor golf simulator session at FlexTee but you're not quite sure how it all works, this guide is for you.
Maybe you've never used a simulator before. Maybe you're coming back to golf after a break. Or maybe you just want a weatherproof way to practise and play without the pressure of a busy course.
Either way, here's exactly what to expect when you walk through the door — plus the FAQs I get asked most.
What FlexTee is (in plain English)
FlexTee is an indoor golf simulator facility built for real practice and real fun — whether you're a beginner, a club golfer, or someone who just wants a great hour hitting balls and playing famous courses.
We run three simulator bays, using ProTee VX launch monitor tech and GSPro software, so you get proper feedback and a seriously good experience.
What happens when you arrive
Enter using your booking instructions, then head to your bay
Use the access/booking details you've been sent to enter, then go straight to your assigned bay and get yourself set up.
Get set up (with guidance if you need it)
If it's your first time on a simulator, there's help available to get the bay running and make sure you're comfortable with the basics. If you've used simulators before, you can jump straight in.
Choose what you want to do: play or practise
Most first-timers do one of these:
- Play a course on GSPro (great for mates, casual golfers, and "I just want to hit balls" sessions)
- Range/practice mode (ideal if you want to work on strike, distance control, or accuracy)
If you tell me what you're working on, I'll point you in the right direction so you don't waste your hour.
What to bring (and what not to worry about)
Bring
- Your clubs (if you have them)
- A glove if you normally wear one
- Clean shoes (trainers are fine)
Don't worry if…
- You're not "good enough" yet (honestly, loads of people start here)
- You haven't played in ages
- You're unsure what to practise — guidance is part of the experience
How long should you book?
A 1-hour session is a great starting point.
- Solo practice: 1 hour is plenty
- Two people: 1 hour is still solid for a first visit
- Groups: consider longer so nobody feels rushed
FlexTee FAQs (the ones people actually ask)
Do I need to be a good golfer to use a simulator?
No. Simulators are one of the best ways to learn because you can take your time, repeat shots, and see what’s happening — without feeling like you’re holding anyone up.
Is it realistic?
Yes — especially for practice and ball-striking feedback. You’ll get consistent data and a clear picture of what your swing is doing.
Can I just come for fun with friends?
Absolutely. Playing a course on GSPro is a brilliant social session, and it’s ideal when the weather’s grim or you want an evening golf fix.
What if I want to improve properly, not just “hit balls”?
That’s where structured practice (and coaching) comes in. If you want, I can help you build a simple plan — what to work on, what numbers to watch, and how to track progress session to session.
What’s the difference between booking a bay and becoming a member?
Booking is pay-as-you-go. Membership is for golfers who want regular access and the best value over time. FlexTee membership includes 24/7 access for members, entry to leagues/competitions, and 10% off during off-peak hours. If you’re practising weekly (or you want the flexibility to play when it suits you), membership tends to make a lot of sense.
Are you open late?
Public hours are 10am–10pm. Members have 24-hour access.
What I recommend for your first session (simple plan)
If you're not sure what to do in your first hour, here's a straightforward structure:
1. Warm up
Short shots, then mid irons
2. Pick one focus
Strike, start line, or distance control
3. Play a few holes on GSPro
Make it fun
4. Finish with your favourite club
Leave on a good one
